Livelihood and Family/community empowerment: Provide Life sustaining initiatives to the neediest children in the community. Mobilize families and communities to make the best use of available local resources to solve their problem. Train and empower households of Orphanages and Most Vulnerable children to establish income-generating activities towards facilitating economic development. Train households on gardening, farming and nutrition interventions enabling families and communities to feed, educate and care for their children sustainably by becoming self-reliable.
Health program: Major focus is on Mother and child health. Also to create awareness and build capacity of communities on disease prevention with major focus on HIV/AIDS, and Malaria.
Education Program: Capacity building and empowerment for children to access education who would not normally be able to attend school.
Peace: Promoting a peaceful environment for children to grow. The major focus is to prevent the likelihood of violent behavior and conflict, which severely affect children.
Environmental Conservation: HCA understands that tomorrow’s leaders need to be equipped for tomorrow’s challenges, and we must adequately prepare our children for the future they will inherit. This requires a commitment to provide children with conservation education. Studies have shown that environmental education engages children in learning, raising their test scores, and encouraging them to pursue career in environmental and natural resources. HCA as children focused organization sees the need to venture into empowering and educating children in conservation issues. Giving children a peer-reviewed, award-winning conservation education they will use to make the world a better place now and for generations to come.
